Herm Sprenger prong collars are produced in standard sizes. However, the special design makes it easy to customize each collar to fit your dog perfectly. All you need is to remove extra links if your dog needs a smaller size or add extra links if its neck is larger than a standard dog prong collar size.

One link will add 1.45 in (3.7 cm) to the collar size.

How to add / remove a link from a prong dog collar:
  1. Select a link you would like to remove.
  2. Push the link towards to make the prongs come out of the loops of the next link.
  3. Squeeze the prongs together to make them come through the looped end.
  4. Add or remove links symmetrically by the sides of the central plate. Your goal is to keep equal number of links by each its side or maximum one link larger by one side.
NOTE!

It is important to choose a prong collar extra links of the same material and wire gauge as your collar to keep its equal tensile strength and make it maximum reliable and long lasting.

Measure the neck size of your dog behind the ears and under the jaw. When you choose a prong collar, tske into account, that two fingers should slip between the collar and the dog's neck. Thus it should be sbout 3 inches larges than the dog's neck.

Q: How to fix a dog pinch collar?

NEVER EVER take a pinch collar slipping over your dog’s head unfastened. Release the links or a buckle if there is any and take it at the right place (under the jaws) unfastened, then fasten the links or a buckle.

Make sure that prongs are not twisted.
